A Special Day

Today is a very special day in my family as it's my daughter's birthday.

Since she and her family live in Moscow, we exchanged birthday greetings over the phone. I had to think ahead and bring her birthday gifts with me when I visited them for Xmas. If she were living here in the US, I'd be at their place for the weekend to celebrate with her and to enjoy watching the Olympics.

Happy Birthday Tami. Your father and I are very proud of you.

  2. You should be proud of her!!!

I planned ahead and gave Aidan Lydia's birthday and Christmas gifts because when he visited us, the plan was for her to go up to DC to babysit for them the following weekend. But - plans changed. Not only did she not get her birthday gift, she didn't get her Christmas gift either! And at some point in there, Calvin found them and unwrapped them.

However, she did get them in January....so better late than never, I think!

    Happy Birthday Tamara!

  3. Elle J: My favorite way to spend an Olympic Sunday - Slept in as I'd only got to sleep around 2:30 AM from being up late to watch Olympic coverage, made a big breakfast, watched Olympic coverage all day while working on a scrapbook for a friend and stayed in my flannel PJ pants, old turtleneck and sweatshirt. Now I'm going to make some supper and do more of the same. I did get to talk with my daughter to wish her a happy b-day.

Annie: It's the thought that counts!

  4. I should be able to remember her birthday, since it's sandwiched right between Katya's (19th) and my mother's (22nd). Thanks for the reminder, I'll pop over now (well via the net) and wish her the best.

It is sad to have your children so far away on their birthdays.

  8. Olga,

It's hard to have her away period. You're lucky that Katya and family are only Down Under for 6 months. Moscow has been 5 1/2 LONG YEARS.

  9. As a mother with a daughter in Moscow, I know how you feel.
Katherine will be here for her birthday.
Pavel told me all the holidays they were missing because they live in Moscow. Made me so sad:
All we can do it hope someday they come home.
I know you have been at this a lot longer than I have....
    Happy Birthday to Tamara!!
