I know they have been popular for several years and EVERYONE has them. My daughter and granddaughters have had them for years and love them. I've tried them on several times and didn't think they were comfortable.
Yesterday I was at a local discount store that buys overstocks, etc. They had the real ones for only $10. I tried them on again and they actually were comfortable. Unfortunately there weren't many choices for color so I have Robin's egg blue ones that have white swirls throughout.
By now have you figured out that I am now a Crocs wearer?
I came home, cut off the tags and wore them in the house all evening. I wanted to make sure that I really found them comfortable before I wore them outside. I wore them all day and really do like them.
Before I left the store, I also bought a lime green pair of the knock-offs that they sell as I figured they'd be good for gardening shoes.
So if you see a 60ish grandma sporting blue with white swirl Crocs, please say hi.

I have black Mary Jane crocs, and I added bling . . . jewel-like jibbitz. I have a photo somewhere . . . I bought them a few summers ago. This summer I have worn them every day, except when I am on my bike. They were recommended to me (as required indoor shoes) by a fellow plantar fasciitis sufferer, too.
ReplyDeleteI guess I should try them...they don't LOOK comfortable! But, people said they were so I thought I'd try some on - then I saw the price! So, you did it all in just the right order. Maybe if I see the cheap ones....
ReplyDeleteThough, as far as being "in" - I just heard they were "out"....they won't be "officially out" though, until I get mine.
I just don't think I'm going to try those. I have a narrow foot - Glad you were able to find some and at a good price! That's always makes it more fun.
ReplyDeleteI do not like crocs. But, I think I'm the minority decenter. I think it's because I've worn the plastic Birkenstocks for years for surgery. Then, when the Croc craze started, some started wearing them to work, and it just seemed GROSS. I mean, they have HOLES in them. The whole point of wearing plastic shoes to surgery is so you can wash the blood off. Sorry, that is just my perspective. But, like I said, minority. P.S. I've never let my kids wear them either.
ReplyDeleteBut, I'm sure YOU look very hip. =) Don't mind me. And, try not to think of blood when you wear them. 'K?
ReplyDeleteI am all about comfort. Crocs are so comfortable for my very wide feet.
ReplyDeleteI would have worn them to my sons wedding if I'd had some at the time!!!
All my kids and grandkids have them and love them.
My little grandson who is 3 has orange ones..he looks so cute in them!
I tried them several times over the years in the store and never could decide if they will be comfortable. A week ago I found a pair of yellow ones at the beach (like at 7am). And I found out - they are horrible for me - I wore them to the garden one morning and blistered two one my toes in half an hour. Too bad! Still have some hopes of wearing them to the garden in the autumn with some socks.

Olga,
ReplyDeleteMany shoes give my toes blisters but I got lucky this time. I couldn't wait to take off my Merrill sandals (high wedge heel) tonight and into my Crocs. Sure wish I could wear them to work on the days when we can wear jeans. Good luck with them with sox once the cooler weather is here.

I have the maryjane style Crocs too. I buy those funky little "socklets" and wear those with them, because I do get a blister if I wear them too long without socks.. My girls can't wear them at all. They get blisters with or without socks. They can wear the sandals though. I want to try the Crocs with the fur inside for myself. Again, my girls can't wear these for school, since they will get mulch in their shoes on their playgrounds. I have even seen a type of winter boot. Wonder how comfy they are??
ReplyDeleteThanks for the birthday wishes. I am very blessed with my friendships and family! (As we all are!!)
